The implementation of accessibility requirements pursuant to the European Accessibility Act is incumbent upon all economic operators providing consumer services in electronic commerce after 28 June 2025, whereby microenterprises are exempt from this obligation provided they employ fewer than ten persons and their annual turnover does not exceed two million euros.

The translation follows established easy-language guidelines: short sentences, one idea per sentence, simple words, active voice, lists for enumerations. In the plugin this takes one click in the widget — each page is translated only once and then cached.

Frequently asked questions
Does Wave Access make my site automatically compliant?
No — and beware of vendors who promise that. Wave Access fixes many barriers automatically, documents your status and guides you through the remaining steps. Full compliance also depends on your content and design.
Isn't this just another overlay?
No. The widget is only one of six components. The core is code-level fixes (skip links, ARIA, focus, tab order), audits with reports, and AI tools that make content genuinely more accessible.
Where is data processed?
The plugin runs entirely on your server. Only the optional AI features send content encrypted to our EU proxy for processing. No visitor data is tracked.
Can I cancel monthly?
Yes. All plans can be cancelled monthly — even on monthly billing. Annual billing is optional and saves about 20%. Manage and cancel anytime in your account.
Who does the European Accessibility Act apply to?
Since June 28, 2025, it covers B2C e-commerce, booking and ticketing services across the EU (in Germany implemented as BFSG). Micro-enterprises are exempt. When in doubt, ask your legal counsel.
